CHILDHOOD misconceptions?? share some....
i used to follow my grandma to hawker centre ocassionally to 'take-away' zhi cha. I saw the auntie place the plastic sheet into the folded paper box(those hor fun boxes) and when i turn around..she open the boxes and inside is filled with steaming hot hor fun.
So....i thot she is a magician...by placing the plastic sheet inside and cover it..she can transform it into a box of hor fun....
That's plain stupid

i remember when i took the bus, and this lady stood up from her seat to alight, and there was this dead leaf on the seat.
And for years as a kid i kept thinking if u sat long enough would stuff like these appear. -

i thot the moment a couple get married, dressed up in gowns and stuffs will get pregnant. didnt know it requires such effort -

watched a gangfight at my late-grandma's place... it was at selegie, niven road... tough neighbourhood... one day (i think i was 5 or something) there was a "piah chwee" going on and i was upstairs of the pre-war type houses which had 5-foot ways.. they were fighting in the street

Imagine our children talking about our childhood.
Back in the old days, the best computer systems we had was 9674.1 GHz. You kids are sooo lucky these days.
Man, remember when we were young, we only had those stupid virtual reality games to play online. You could only see the 3D images. Now you kids can feel, smell and taste the blood in the games.
Ah... I remember we would take 10 minutes to get from Singapore to Sydney. Now you take the same amount of time to get to the moon.
Luckily back in those days we were only taking F maths for PSLE. Now you kids are learning that s h i t in K2. -
Childhood
kampung life, B&W TV, candle light(frequent blackout), baked (toasted) white school shoe over fire whenever rain (d 1 n oni pair), cooking with firewoods instead of gas, carry water from well (no tap), toilet built on longkang/river (can hear sound n c fish fighting for food when d shit drop into the water), ultraman in suit speaking malayu show on channel 3 or 10 afternoon, attend kindergarten run by PA rather than PAP (checked red & white uniform).
think majority here dun experience diz -

1) Catching spiders at the longkang after rain. That way you can find those pretty, metallic coloured ones that can be 'trained' to jump from finger to finger.
2) On my 11th birthday, two girls came over to my house, ask me to go play badminton. Play badminton with 3 people! We were _so_ inexperienced in BGR relationship. End up talk cock about life.
3) Playing football on Saturdays at school field, getting _very_ muddy, then strip naked, mass shower at canteen taps. The camarederie among soccer boys was really great. Nowadays would you *drink* water from a public tap?
4) Girls asking you to write in their 'diaries' and there you were, never could figure out what to put inside those things. End up always only write in blue ink: birthday, hobbies etc etc.
5) Actually wanting to wear specs, even tho didn't need them.
6) Going to friend's house, practice for talentime audition. We were going to do 'That thing you do' but because of PSLE it didn't materialise.
7) Go to friend's condo with the rest of the 'popular' classmates, sit in his sauna using his towel with them... HAHAHA god those were the days man.
These days all I ever do is worry about A lvls. -
